About Me

A Bit About Me...

Hello, my name is Don Creger. I guess I should begin at the beginning...
I was born far, far away in a land called Bristol, TN. After moving all over the southeast my folks decided to move to Illinois; "The Land of Corn Fields", I mean "Lincoln". I served my time there and as soon as I graduated from high school I headed back to the South. So I moved to Bristol, TN and became a nomad for awhile until I met my wonderful wife whom settled me right down. It was time to hit the work force. After working several years at a dead end job making truck covers and then for a lawn service we had our first child, Chance. That did it! I needed a career to support these growing numbers. Anyhoo, I started college at East Tennessee State University where I majored in Design Graphics/Animation. My final year at ETSU brought us our second child, Hunter. Before completing my degree at ETSU, I accepted a job at Idol Minds in beautiful Boulder, CO. While working there I finished up my degree at Front Range Community College and graduated from ETSU in Dec 2001. 2000 brought us another wonderful addition to our family, Cole.

I've worked on 5 published titles at Idol Minds and spent 7 years there when out of nowhere Sony pull the carpet out from under us; contract cancelled. Neopets didn't sell as well as anticipated, so no sales, no contract. So Idol Minds had to tighten up their belts and lay most everyone off. I, unfortunately, was one of the many who had to walk the plank. Things didn't end there tho. I was fortunate enough to land a job at one of the best game studios in the world, Insomniac Games in sunny Burbank, CA. After 9 months in L.A. Insomniac offered me a once in a lifetime opportunity; to telecommute from Colorado. After completing my 5th published title and working at Insomniac for 6 yrs it was time for new challenges and the collaboration of other artist by getting back into a studio. So now I'm working for an extremely successful mobile gaming app company here in Boulder, Backflip Studios! I have worked on 5 apps so far since I've been here; Dragonvale, Gizmonauts, NinJump Rooftops and 2 other that will be announced soon.

So now when I'm not hard at work I'm chillin' with the fam, traveling around CO, and more times than not you'll find the whole family at the local hockey rink or the lacrosse fields. Having a beautiful wife and three wonderful boys keeps me very entertained and life is good. So to wrap up, I bid thee farewell and happy trails!
